Introducing our Alumni Award Winners | November 2022
On Monday 28th November we held our bi-annual UK Commencement Networking and Awards Night, for all of the Multiverse apprentices who completed their programmes in the past 6 months.
It was a night to remember, as our new alumni, coaches and members of the wider Multiverse Community joined together in celebrating the incredible achievements of our apprentices!
Some of our apprentices went above and beyond during their time on programme and were nominated by their coaches for one of five Alumni Awards. Keep reading to meet our November 2022 Alumni Award Winners:
Charles Clark, Data Fellowship, Hackney Council
Business Transformation Award Winner
“Prior to the data fellowship, Charlie had not really worked with quantitative data in an analytical manner and this work has transformed his team, with him presenting his work to senior management, including the director of his department, who were impressed by his work. This has also led to other teams wanting to use his tool and discussing his work being used within other Councils. From having a degree background in English and accomplishing all that he has for his team, I've nominated Charlie for his grit and determination to improve processes for his department and for the vulnerable residents of Hackney.” - Nicola Jones
Mark Brown, Data Fellowship, KPMG
Personal Transformation Award Winner
“When Mark joined the programme, he had only just joined his new role, as a result of compulsory redundancies in his old team. The area was very new to him, with Mark joining with very little data experience. Despite this, Mark produced the best portfolio I have seen in my 2 years here as a coach, with a hugely impactful project focused on the carbon emissions across his organisation's entire operation. Mark consistently impressed not just me but also his new manager, the Chief Data Officer, with his resilience, tenacity, and determination to excel irrespective of the other struggles he was experiencing. Mark was a pleasure to coach through the programme, and it has been wonderful to see him flourish in his new role and career direction through a time where such a feat would appear impossible.” - Cia Smith
Gustavo Silverio Barbosa, People Leadership, DXC Technology
Peer Support Award Winner
“Gus is pushing double digits on the number of people he is an "accountability partner" to, as he's always offering to help fellow learners catch up on missed sessions and talk through ideas with. Gus also has 3 colleagues in his cohort who he's shared his work & ideas with around adapting his assessment preparation around specific company factors such as the company's values and culture. He's done this selflessly with no motive other than to help others to be the best they can be, and put his coaching & mentoring skills to good use! Gus has been a fantastic Multiverse Mentor, continuing the relationship long after the programme is over, which is a testament to how much he cares about others. Overall, Gus is the DREAM apprentice that all coaches pray to get in their cohorts.” - Pippa Rymill
Elle King, Digital Marketing, Tortoise Media
Community Builder Award Winner
“Throughout her apprenticeship, Elle has contributed a huge impact to our Multiverse community. She became a Network chair, provided value to the Mentoring programme and took part in Peer Support, helping others develop and make the most of their apprenticeship. Elle is an example to all of us part of the Multiverse community and cannot wait to see what she continues to do for the Alumni community!" -Irene Jimenez Jaimez
Steph Preston, Digital Marketing, Blue Zoo Productions
Social Impact Award Winner
“From day 1 of their apprenticeship, Steph has proactively contributed value to everyone in the Multiverse community, by creating meaningful and educational content that matters to all of us on a daily basis: diversity, equity and inclusion. Steph went above and beyond by taking part in events for the Multiverse community, explained the value of the apprenticeship so others could join, and even received an award for their invaluable actions to our Multiverse community. Within their apprenticeship, Steph has ALWAYS been supportive of everyone in the cohort, helping them succeed and giving them a hand with their exams and portfolio. The world would be a better place if we incorporated Steph's sense of collective advantage in our day to day. The engagement on the content created by Steph, the popularity of their events and the impact clearly delivered by Steph on hundreds of other apprentices and on our community, makes clear why they deserve this award.” -Irene Jimenez Jaimez
