Off The Job: Appli.ed Tracker Gets a Makeover
We’re really excited to be launching a revamped off the job (OTJ) tracker in Applied very soon. In this quick blog, we’ll tell you about the key upcoming changes that we will be making to the feature.
What is OTJ?
Logging your OTJ is a mandatory part of your apprenticeship in the United Kingdom.
- Depending on your programme, it makes up a minimum number of your normal working hours over a week that you should spend on your apprenticeship. For example, if you work 30 hours a week, 6 of those hours need to be dedicated to OTJ.
- It can happen at your workplace, at an external location, or virtually! Just bear in mind that at least 50% of the activities need to be completed whilst you’re in the UK. If you travel a lot for work or work abroad often, remember this!
- Progress reviews and on programme assessment do not count towards OTJ
What are the key changes to OTJ?
- View hours at a glance: You will be able to view actual weekly and catchup hours due, rather than the percentage – making it easier to see how many hours you need to log
- Save time with Quick-log: We’ll auto-fill your time when you attend delivery sessions (and add more easy logs over time)
- Track your progress: You can view the total hours you've completed across your apprenticeship
- Choose clear categories: Categories are now clearer than ever and, importantly, help ensure you meet the apprenticeship learning standard so you can be confident in what you log
- Select dates faster: A new and more intuitive selector makes it simpler and faster to add dates and times
What updates are you making to categories?
Multiverse uses categories to help us ensure you are meeting the regulatory requirements of your apprenticeship in the UK. This is important to make sure you qualify for government funding.
- To pass your apprenticeship you must complete OTJ activities that count as both projected learning and applied learning.
- Projected learning: Refers to dedicated periods within a work schedule that are set aside for learning and professional development.
- Applied learning: Defined as the hands-on application of skills in the workplace
The new Multiverse categories are designed to fit both projected learning and applied learning activities. So, by completing a range of the activities listed below, you’ll be able to do just that!
