What does a typical day in your role look like?
A typical day in my role can look like updating data and reports, writing up commentary (a report usually written in a story format that is sent to the client talking about what has gone on in the account), making sure campaigns adhere to best practices, launching campaigns and optimising existing campaigns.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
In my job I enjoy the people the most, I'm able to connect with people from other teams and departments, learn about them and their experiences.
Why did this role/industry appeal to you?
Marketing appealed to me because of the impact it has on people. Marketing is what gets information out there, it educates people on products, services, and systems. Marketing has a big influence on people's decision making which is why I was interested
How did doing a Multiverse apprenticeship support your career journey?
I was able to apply what I learnt in my apprenticeship to my role, such as when completing my portfolio I had to meet competencies to pass my apprenticeship, this way I was able to explore different areas in my career such as social media marketing, it gave me support in deciding which area of marketing I'd like to specialise in.
What was the best part about doing a Multiverse apprenticeship?
The one-to-one coaching I received was the best thing about doing a multiverse apprenticeship. For context this was my first full-time role straight after sixth-form, my inner circle all went to university and I didn't know anyone who worked in corporate, I honestly believed I would've struggled had it of not been for the one to one coaching and amazing support I received from my coach. Each month we would set goals together and create an action plan on how I'd achieve it and each month I did! My coach provided me with a safe place to express anything I needed support with, sometimes I felt like the questions I had were too silly to ask but I knew I could always ask my coach.
What achievement are you most proud of since completing your apprenticeship?
Since completing my apprenticeship I am most proud of how I led my own workshop on the Multiverse community hub to an audience of 50 people, my apprenticeship helped me really build on communication skills which was I able to use in the workshop.
What advice would you give to current apprentices who want to progress in a similar role?
If there's an area in your role your struggling with, don't be ashamed or afraid to speak up about it, your team, line manager, peers and coaches are there to support you, remember the whole point of completing an apprenticeship is to learn! On the flip side if you want to make more progress in an area or want to complete more senior-level tasks within it, also voice it! People can't support you if they don't know and I'm sure they do, so use the support, and resources you have to progress.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to do a Multiverse apprenticeship?
There are amazing support and learning opportunities available, so use it, use it! I honestly do wish I'd been much more involved in the community from the start of my apprenticeship, I say this because of the amazing events and resources they have for apprentices, you can meet like-minded people at multiverse meetups, host your own meets, get involved in development opportunities such as elevate, outreach, there really is so much to do, so get involved and use the support available to you!
