Stephanie is a level 3 digital marketing apprentice at Google in the UK.
Hey Stephanie! Tell us a little about yourself and your apprenticeship with Multiverse...
My name is Stephanie Anastasiou. I am 24 years old and I am 5 months into my 15-month digital marketing apprenticeship with Google. My team at Google is the strategic insights team and this team is data research-based.
My journey began after completing my A levels in creative writing, religious studies, and English Literature. I developed a love of media and participated in a creativity works multimedia training course. I landed an internship in Sky doing copywriting and performance marketing. I participated in many courses including “Get into Media with the Prince’s Trust” and “Financial Times news school”. Employability skills are key and “TFL steps into work” were great to gain coverage in many different work teams including Project Management, Testing & Commissioning, and Data team.
How have you found it so far?
My experience so far has been one to remember. I feel like working at Google is like being on a cruise ship due to the size of the offices, the delicious free food, and the various outdoor and indoor interiors and rooms.
I have had a chance to work on some great projects including creating team newsletters and competitive research on Google’s competitors. I have also gained exposure to charity work with Google Adgrants where I was fortunate enough to learn Google Analytics which helps improve charity campaigns.
Tell us about some of the key learnings and skills your Multiverse apprenticeship has equipped you with that you apply to your role?
Taking part in training sessions with Multiverse has allowed me to work towards my qualification in digital marketing while gaining hands-on experience at Google. The sessions have covered key topics including customer lifecycle and campaign planning, social media and digital etiquette and fundamentals of marketing.
Having a supportive coach and supportive team around me has hugely contributed to my success. This support is great when working towards exams, taking part in 1:1 sessions has helped me understand and solve complex problems.
How has being a part of the Multiverse Community helped you so far?
Recently I have started participating in multiverse programs including Elevate, Mentoring and being a Peer Mentor. I enjoy learning new skills, helping others and learning from feedback and I highly recommend these programs. It has improved my confidence to achieve my goals and improve my communication skills.
A memorable experience has been taking part in the Multiverse content day where I had the wonderful opportunity to learn and create various videos about my apprenticeship and the benefits of being an apprentice at Multiverse.
A Multiverse apprenticeship aims to deliver skills of lifelong learning, networking, and opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals. How are you using the Community to help you in your career?
I have had the opportunity to attend workshops on many various topics including self-promotion, data and coding skills. Attending these workshops has helped me with my marketing exam as coding and data are key skills to passing the exam.
I have had the confidence to apply these skills to my role at Google and have used my confidence gained to network, put myself forward for work opportunities and roles including taking on new projects and working with teams outside of my sector.
Finally, what are your top 3 tips for other Multiverse apprentices?
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions, there is no such thing as a silly question.
- Take on everything and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.
- Networking is a key way to meet new people, share experiences and get to know your team members.
