Member of the Month Article - Nathan Owusu-Ansah
Nathan is a Business Administration Apprentice at Arcadis.
Hey Nathan! Congratulations on winning Member of the Month - could you tell us a little bit about your background, what apprenticeship you are doing & where you work?
I’m currently an apprentice fresh out of sixth-form on a Business Administration Apprenticeship working at Arcadis. I'm in the business advisory team (Business Transformation), specifically transformational change, where we design and implement practical solutions with clients to deliver sustainable change with realisable benefits. As a Trainee Consultant I support the success of client outcomes to essentially embody our vision which is to improve the quality of life.
So, how do you feel about winning Member of the Month? Can you tell us a bit about your nomination? E.g who you were nominated by and why?
I was nominated by Nuno Vieira who’s on a different course as a digital accelerator apprentice. Initially, it came as a surprise but quickly transitioned into me being very grateful to have someone go out of their way to nominate me. I'd reached out to him to help with a presentation he needed to do for an assignment that he was concerned about, and I'd given him advice on what I thought were key elements to a good presentation to ensure he'd covered the basics for success. It's great to be able to inspire another apprentice and have a positive impact on their journey with Multiverse, and I wish him the best of luck in the future continuing forward.
The Multiverse Community gives Apprentices the opportunity to build meaningful, social and professional relationships. Have you found the Community has helped you to build your network throughout your Apprenticeship and if so, how?
Yes, being a part of this amazing, especially supportive community has been a wonderful experience so far. I had the opportunity to work briefly with another apprentice in another cohort, for her contribution to a presentation I gave to colleagues early this year within my team about apprenticeships, her input was greatly valued as it helped culminate the voices from those involved with Multiverse to paint a picture of how beneficial an apprenticeship is to businesses. From how simple it was to collaborate with another apprentice to how simple it is to find impactful and useful events that help with my development in my apprentice journey touching on important topics with an abundance of variety really enriches the pathway to completing the course with the upside of meeting nice people along the way, is brilliant.
What has been the most rewarding experience you’ve had so far as an apprentice?
Apart from having a positive impact on another apprentice's journey, I'd have to say it'd been the time I was referred by my line manager to my business director at the time to help facilitate a community event that involved my entire team due to how much she'd liked a business administration assignment I'd completed. Working alongside senior professionals was an interesting experience that resulted in me learning new skills that greatly aided my development in Arcadis.
